What is the Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon?
A first of its kind, a battle of fitness, endurance, and action sports... Best of all, a $5000.00 prize purse for the top winners and tons of product giveaways from the top longboard brands. The Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon is a 26.2 mile longboard race set to promote health & fitness, as well as the lifestyle that is ActionSports. The 2013 San Diego race will consist of multiple laps around Fiesta Island, in Mission Bay. Cities visited in 2011 & 2012 were New York City, Caguas, Plano, Hallandale Beach, and San Diego. Committed to not only fitness and endurance, the Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon will also support the community. A portion of each registration fee will be donated to Movember. It’s effect is to raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and their men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation. GOOD NEWS! Last night, the Mission Bay Park Commitee approved the proposed time change to Fiesta Island road closure from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. That gives you an extra hour to finish the Marathon, which equals to a later start, which equals to a well-lit course, which equals to more fun, and so on… [...]
